France has seen a lot of new and interesting artists this last year and The Teenagers are one of the best examples. My first awareness of them came from their recent Unitaur tour alongside Crystal Castles and These New Puritans and to be perfectly honest I wasn’t expecting much after a quick listen of their myspace. How wrong I was. Their performance was incredible – not only did their songs revel in the live format but they perfected a neat, engaging set – even recruiting the help of two members of the audience for their song ‘Homecoming.’ Their natural ease on stage was also a welcome site. Now, some may be wary of their lyrics (namely: ‘I f**ked my American c**t…’) but personally they say it with such an air nonchalant humour that I can’t see any fault at all. The simple truth is that they excel on stage and are faultless in their playing. Light, happy, indie at its best. Check them out when they return to tour in the UK. You will not be disappointed.
